Oh, how I love Pink Saturday...isn't it wonderful to get all "filled up" with that glorious color?
I always think my house is so pink until I try to take pix and it seems like nothing's pink.
Oh yes....are those the cutest little pink girlie shoes EVER? I so wish I had these for my little girl back in the day. They're the happiest little shoes.
I actually bought them at the Goodwill! I never look at shoes, but was passing by on my way to check out the house-ie stuff and these caught my eye. Pink AND sparkles??? Oh yes! There must have been at least 10 perfect pairs of little girlie shoes.....you know, the kind that make you say ahhhhhhhhhhh........?? Now, I have no use whatsoever for these, but they made me happy, so what the heck....bring 'em on home, right? :-)

I'm sorry this picture is a bit blurry.....
Don't you just love that?
Bidden or unbidden God is always present.
Comforting and at the same time it makes me think before I say things.... :-)
Printed on cute little paper and framed. I actually have lots of little things like this around the cottage. One of my dear friends always says "And God is still in control"....so I have one that says that too. :-)

Girlies! I'm so grateful to you.
My purpose for beginning this blog was to help deal with the grief after the death of my Mum last December.
My Mum was always the one who was most thrilled with all my little projects. She'd have to hop in her little red Honda and zip on over to see what I was making.
I've been putting off the re-doing of the den because projects were so connected to her praise.
Finally, I thought I'd just start............get the fabric out and get with it.....
I want you to know how much your sweet comments have meant to me.
You've cheered me on and your encouragement helped me jump in. And, I've been so inspired by all of your lovely homes, so envious of your thrifty finds and enamored my your fabulous projects.
I've said it many times, but this is why I love the Blog World so much. Where else could you find so many fabulous women? They don't know you and maybe you'll never meet but they really care about you and don't we all need a bit more of that?
So.............I've finished SEVEN pillows and the chair and stool slipcovers!
Just a second, I have to pat myself of the back.... :-)
God Bless every single one of you.
You are precious to me.
Please don't miss all of the other yummy pinkalicious things!
Beverly over at www.howsweetthesound.typepad is hosting this delish event so zip right on over there. She's asked us to actually put the Pink Saturday post for our link, but I still don't know how to do that. I'm ever so sorry.
Have a wonderful and safe weekend.
Hugs to all of you!
Spence
Hi Spencer,
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog, and I have enjoyed visiting yours. I’m sorry about the loss of your beloved mother, I see from your writings she was a treasure. These girly and sparkly pink slippers are adorable and what a wonderful thrifty find. I noticed you are in the Pacific Northwest; I lived in the Portland area for 7 years. I loved Cannon beach and enjoyed spending weekend afternoons there often.
Cathy
Good Morning Spencer, Those are the cutest pink slippers! I also love the dainty dish that your Mom gave to you. I started my blog when my mom passed away last Sept. and the blog friends I have made have been such a joy and comfort to me also. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteSpencer, Love the little pink ballet shoes and they look so cute sitting on the plate of buttons.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, there are a world full of wonderful ladies and gents out there in bloggerville.

Winter is just around the corner in my neck of the woods so Pink Saturday is even more meaningful for me because I won't see my garden bloom again until at least May of next year!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your participation this week. It brightened my day☺ I, too, would have kept those dance shoes if they had belonged to my child. Don't know why some folks don't treasure things like that...
Wishing you a wonderful weekend filled with happiness surrounded by those you love.

ReplyDeleteI'm happy and truly honored that you had the time to stop by my blog. Those little sparkling pink shows are just sooooooooooo darling and your arrangements is just sooooooooo perfect. I'm glad I've had the chance to meet you in blog land.
I guess deciding to have an own post has for me too been a way to come to terms with the death of ky mom last year. she was so proud of me and always encouraging. I must say that most of what I have been able to accomplish in life and at work is thank to her constant support and admiration for me and for those she'd call talents. So let me take the opportunity to pay a little tribute and send up to heaven a big THANK YOU to all those marvelous mothers that are no longer with us.
Love
RitA

Hey, Spencer...okay, tears in my eyes because your story reminds me how wonderful the blogging world of friends is to us! You have now taken inspiration and passed it on. What a wonderful circle, right? I am redoing my dining room because I have my table in it now!
