Things That Make Me Smile......

Hey there little Sweeties!

I've told you before about my little grandson......oh how I ADORE this child!.....Well, he stays with us a lot.....his poor Mummy needs a little break since she's doing this little gig by herself....   :-)

I asked him to set the table for dinner and before I knew it he'd been into his art supplies (I have a large selection for him here) and made flowers for the table....

Is that not the cutest thing ever?

I was soooo tickled.

I'm going to save them to put on my desk when I get the den finished.

He knows what I like, that's for sure.

As you probably know, his daddy died and his Mum has been single for seven years now.  She was thinking it might be time to date again but it's not easy meeting nice people.......  Her friend told her to try eHarmony......she said she didn't have the money for that so her wonderful, dear, sweet friend told her to sign up and she'd pay for it.

Well..........she met a dud.  And then..............she met the nicest guy.

This is still very new and we can't know where it's going to go, but she's soooo happy and that makes her Mama happy.

It's been a long time since someone has told her she's funny and beautiful......well, I tell her, but you know what I mean?

I covet your prayers for her..........and for my little fella...........that if this is God's will that everything will fall perfectly into place.  She soooo deserves it.

So, that's my story girlies....

I'm going to go to the Sewing Store tomorrow to learn how to use the ruffler for my sewing machine.....finally!

I'll let you know how that works out.  It's been nothing but frustration so far.

Huggies and Lovies!
Spence

  3. Spencer, that flower and its vase has got to be the sweetest thing EVER!

Love this story, too, and you know I'm a romantic and want what's best for your daughter, too, because she's your daughter! I just said a prayer that the Lord bring the right man into her life.

    Love you...

  4. Oh my goodness Spencer - I am living a life so similar to yours. My daughter was engaged to be married last year in May -everything was paid for and set up - five weeks before the wedding the groom (panicked) and cancelled the wedding. He has never spoken to my daughter since. It broke her heart and she has no closure.

She is just now starting to date too and has an 8 year old little guy! It is so hard - I want her to be happy, but I don't want her hurt again.

His flowers by the way - TOTALLY AWESOME. He did a great job. He knows what his grandma loves.

    Love,
    Sandie

  5. Grandsons are wonderful little creatures!!! I don't know what I would do without mine. Good luck with the ruffler. I have had mine for years and I LOVE it. I have made many miles of ruffles with it over the years.

Love the flowers. Grandchildren are the best!

  8. Good Morning Spencer, your photo made me smile too, even before I read the story behind it. So sweet of him! I wish your daughter the best of luck with her new relationship. Sometimes you have to sort through a dud or two but I'm sure there is someone out there for her.

    Ruffler? That sounds like fun!

  9. Awww, how sweet of your Grandson. He is a very crafty little guy.
I also believe it is time for her to move ahead with her life and will keep her in my prayers, that this young man works out, if it's God will.
Good luck with the rufflier. Let us see some of your work when you learn how it is done.

  11. Spencer, I love the flower vase and flower your grand son made for you! That is so very precious!

I hope that his mom has found a real nice man who will always treat her good.. It isn't easy being in the dating field again after one's been married.. I've done that myself, and at first I felt asthough I was doing something wrong, but then I was so very lucky right from the start to have found my very best friend and husband to whom I'm married to today, and have been now for 25 years to boot!! I wish much love and happiness to both you and your grand son's Mom!

I really love stopping by and visiting you on you blog!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Blessings,
    ~Lynn

  12. You have a little artist in the family and a sweet one too. I am a grammie too and absolutely love my three grand daughters - even when they drive me crazy:) I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for your daughter and throwing in a prayer for good measure that this man makes her and your grandson happy!!! Good luck with your ruffler. I need to do that someday soon too.

  13. Adorable bud vase with the pretty red flower...how sweet of your grandson!
Seven years is a long time for a young woman to not have a man in your life...hope this is the perfect mate for her...they say you have to kiss a few toads before the right one comes along.

  16. G'day sweet Spencer ~ Your sweet daughter deserves the best, sweetie. Everything has its time ...

What a darling table creation. Don't they just melt your heart? We started a 'memory box' for each of our wee ones to tuck their little 'art works' & other creations after they've been out for a while or they create other darling things to display. Now they are having a ball because we also 'tuck away' other little treasures we find for them ... so they enjoy fingering their new treasures. I could NEVER throw away anything.

Thank you for your sweet notes. Dr. said about another 3 weeks, oy!
    Have a beautiful weekend.

    Hugs, TTFN ~ Marydon

  17. Just as your grandson's thoughtful gesture of giving you "flowers" for your table melted your heart, I hope this new beau will sweep your daughter off her feet with thoughtfulness, love and respect. May God bless and direct her.

  22. Hello Spencer,
I just know you love spending time with your little grandson, he knows how much you love him and he wants to make you happy. The little flowers are such a gift.
I know how you must worry about your daughter and I know, as a Mother myself, that you want only happiness for her. I think she will find it.
I'll be saying a little prayer for both of you.

    hugs

  27. Hi Spence,
I hope and pray that your daughter will find happiness again with someone she deserves. I worry and fret over every one of my children and when my second daughter was dating again after an abusive marriage, I was so nervous that it could happen again. She had four children and you can imagine that it would take a crazy man to fall for someone with four children...well, she found a crazy man and they have been happily married for the past five years and we love him so much. They have a little two year old miracle baby together (my daughter had had her tubes tied, and went and had surgery so she could have one more) I just know your daughter will find that one special one again. Your little g-son sounds like the sweetest thing ever.
    hugs
