Oh PUMPKIN!

Hi Sweet and WONDERFUL chickies!

Things have been ever so busy here at the cottage.

The sewing room is put back together, but there is a LOT of sewing to complete before I can have show and tell....and believe me.... I'll be shoutin' from the rooftops when it's all done. I can hardly wait.

Already I am loving it.

Now, about these little pumpkins!

Cute??

Yep, Tightwad Tilly's at it again!

Pumpkins: one dollar each
Glitter: pennies
Paint: pennies
Moss: pennies
Twig: free
Glue: pennies
Leaf garland: one dollar
Wire: free
Floral Tape: pennies

Now, it just doesn't get any better than that, does it?

So, here's the tutorial.... Sooooo darn easy!

I'm sorry to say I didn't get any pictures along the way. My daughter and two of her sweet little friends came over for "Craft Day" and we were too busy to get any photos in.

We already have a day planned for next month. I think we'll make Christmas tags.

My daughter's known these girls FOR.EVER. They stayed the night when there were just schoolgirls and have stayed in touch all these years... I LOVE 'em.

Ok........I got sidetracked....back to the pumpkins.

Pull the stem out of your Dollar Tree pumpkin.

Stick a chopstick in the hole so it's easy to hang onto while you paint that little guy whatever color you want it to be.

You could leave them as is, but I just don't like that color..... so I painted them with craft paint.

I did white ones too and I used that Benjamin Moore paint all the bloggers got for free several months ago.

They are ever so cute. :-)

So, now you have them all painted and they're dry.

I brushed them with regular old Elmer's glue... It worked just fine....and sprinkled them with crafty (CHEAP) clear glitter.

How easy is this?? :-)

I stuck a bit of a twig in the top for the stem.... The hole is already there and it was super simple.

I bought a big bag of fake moss at Michaels for a few dollars and put a little puff of that around the stem. It looks cute, but it also covers up any goobers. Just stick a smidge of glue there first.

Snip off a little leaf from the garland and glue that in too...

I used a little bit of wire and wrapped it with floral tape....curled it around a pencil and wrapped the finished bit around the stem for a little added touch.

Can you see it there?

Gosh I hate that dang floral tape. Did it really used to be soooo sticky? I had it glued all over me.

I bought those itty-bitty pumpkins on the bottom of the tray for a dollar a box several months ago...

I wasn't sure if I'd ever use them, but I'm so glad I bought them.

So, take your little selves to the Dollar Tree and stock up on those little pumpkins.

I was surprised by the assortment of things there.

Wouldn't this one be fun to do with the kidlets?

Big huggies to you dear ones.

God bless you.

Easy Peasy Pink Saturday Tutorial!

Hi sweet and wonderful girlies...And, welcome to Pink Saturday, hosted by dear Beverly over at www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com

Oh yes! You'll want to head right on over to see all of the other pretty pinks.

And now.......without further ado!......THE TUTORIAL!

This is such an easy little project....I do love something quick and satisfying!

If you don't have some sort of metal candlestick around the house, just zip on over to your handy, dandy thrift store and pick up something cute....this one is from Partylite....and was only$2.99, I think! That little top gizmo just screwed right off. You'll also need a nice, clear punch cup. I think mine was about 49 cents....two prisms, about a yard of pink (or whatever color you fancy!!) seam binding. This is Midori's ballerina pink. It's my FAV!!

I had some old 527 glue out in my stash, and that seemed to work quite well....and a little tealight of your choice.

I got my prisms at Lowe's or Home Depot. I think they were about $1.00 each....gotta love some sparkle! Now, glue that little cup on top of your painted candlestick....seeee! I SAID it was going to be ever so simple!......let that cure overnight. Tie the bow onto the handle and attach the little prisms on the ends of the ribbons...........YAY! Finished

And, pretty darn cute, don't you think??? I have made several of these before....but I painted the bases in black.....so cute with the pale pink ribbon.......but, hey! Whatever makes you smile!

Please come by and tell me you've finished your ever so simple, little candlestick! I want to see it! :-)

I am getting very close to my 100th post so I'll be saving this for my little giveaway. Oh yes...I have some fun things planned! You'll want to come back over the next few weeks to check on that little upcoming event! :-) Oh yes.......I AM a tease! Let me just say, it will all be PINK!! :-)

God bless all of you!

You mean so much to me.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Don't forget to come back for the 100th post giveaway.....COMING SOON!!

PS........Daughter crash update: DD got an attorney today. It was just too stressful for her to try to do it all herself. She's a bit of a worrier....could she have gotten that from me?......NAHHHH.... She's decided to have the work done on the car, then trade it in on something else. Apparently she has something in her auto policy called diminished value. The insurance company will pay her the difference between the wrecked value and the pre-wreck value.....gotta love that!

Thank you soooo much for all of your concern and good tips!
