My Dad and My Little Girl......

I adore this picture. My little girl was about five and it was just two years before my dad passed away. My daughter adored my dad and he thought she was the best thing ever. My dad loved little girls. (Good thing he ended up with daughters!!) He said they came with built in giggles. They had such a closeness. It was precious to see. Dodi was the only grandchild on both sides of the family. She got lots and LOTS of attention. They say you can look at the body language in a photo and tell a lot about the people in the picture. Just look at the affection here! She's as close to him as she can get and he's holding her little hand. She'll still tear up when she talks about him. He spent a lot of time with her and it's amazing the impact that had on her life. I'm so sad we didn't get to have him longer.

On the computer front: This old girl's going into the hospital tomorrow and won't be back before Wednesday. Darn! I'll miss all of you and your updates! Our fella's going to totally strip everything off the system and start over. My hope is that I can make her last until July when the prices come down on this year's models. The new ones have about a zillion times more oooomph than mine...it's amazing how things can change in about three years.

My dear, sweet Hubbs had a bit of a non-cancerous yukky thing removed on Thursday and is all stitched up. Ewwww. I just don't like seeing those kinds of things and I have to change the bandages. Poor guy. But, he got a weekend off and really enjoyed that. And, the moral of that story is SUNSCREEN!!!! He grew up in Hawaii an surfed every day. Sun reflected off the water? The Dr. said he's a dermatologist's dream. The NW has a high incidence of breast cancer and MS, but I don't think skin cancer's too high on the list.

I hope you all had a glorious Easter........
I love you Jesus!

I'll be back soon.

Huge blessings and Sunny Smiles!

  5. Hi Spencer...I can't handle the stitched up thingy either...

When my hubbs and I were dating he came to the waiting area in my dorm room covered with blood. A roof jack fell off the top of a mobile home (he had a part-time job working on them) and it hit him right between the eyes. Took out a chunk of skin and eyebrow. I nearly fainted...

Just when I was getting my head straight a "friend" ran up to him and said "Oh Steve...I'll help you (in her Oklahoma drawl)! I was so mad! Now I MAKE MYSELF look...then I faint! :)

Can't wait 'til you're back! Hope your hubbs heals up fast!
