Hi Sweet little Chickies!
I just had to share this with you. As I've said, I had a garage sale with my sweet friend, Jan, a couple of weeks ago....Her home AND yard are simply stunning....everyone who came to the garage sale RAVED about her home.......It's sooo pretty. I should have taken pictures of the outside of her house; I'll do that soon.........you will LOVE it!!! These are pictures of her SIDE yard. They wanted the neighbors to have something pretty to look at when they drove into their driveway.....all together now............ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! :-)

Jan's hubby is a CAN-DO kind of fella and made this bench. Is that not just the cutest darn thing? This would have been my coffee table choice if Jim had been able to squeeze it into his busy schedule.
Which reminds me....coffee table dilemma solved! I found one....and love it. I'll take pix soon!
I have three topiarys like that......Jan gave me a tip....another easy-peasy how-to. All you do to make the frame is bend a metal HANGER into a round shape, stick it into the dirt and add ivy. Now, isn't that great for a two minute job? It doesn't end up looking like a hanger does it?
I bought an ivy plant a long time ago. I have no idea what variety it is, but this is some super-sturdy stuff. I've taken a gazillion clippings off of it to start new plants. Just stick them into some water until you see roots and plant! FREE! I do love a nice thrifty little project with lots of ZIP! :-)
I've been soooo busy lately. My little grandson is out of school for the summer so he's been with me most of the time. I LOVE spending time with him.
And, my Darling Daughter and I are having a garage sale this weekend.....oh, I know what you're thinking.........didn't she just say she just HAD a garage sale? MMMMmmmm.....the answer to that would be YES......BUT.....I still have loads of stuff to pass on (read un-load) and my daughter takes right after her mother! You see....when you're a thrifty girl who loves a bargain it's easy to change things out.....Yeah, now the truth....I buy lots of things with hot ideas and change my mind. :-) Shhhh....don't tell the Hubbs!
Wishing you a beautiful Tuesday!!!!
Big hugs!
Spencer
You are precious, Spencer. And, snuggly-bug is out of school, how great you will enjoy this. TTFN ~Marydon

You have your grandson! How fun. I am taking a week off from work next week so I can have my granddaughter. We live about 200 miles apart so needless to say I don't get to see her very often. She is 9 years old now and growing up too fast. Isn't that always the way? Have fun at your yard sale. Can't wait to see the pics of your friends home.
ReplyDeleteTake care sweetie, Susan
Hi Spencer...A very cute yard if I do say so myself!!! The window box and bench are perfect. What would we do without garage sales and crafty husbands??? xoxo~Kathy~ Sweet Up-North Mornings...

what a cute idea for the neighbors! of course, i'm so far from my next door neighbor, they'd never see it... LOL... so we plant trees instead. ;)
ReplyDeletegarage sales... wish I could have one... but with the 100-degree temps we're having... not a good idea... maybe in the fall...

The side yard belonging to your friend is great. I love beautiful homes and yards, don't you? I am constantly amazed by how much work goes into keeping everything looking good. It is continual.
ReplyDeleteIt is also rewarding and creates a fabulous environment for living.
I hope things are going better for your daughter and grandson and have a great garage sale. I got a chuckle out of your comment about not telling Hubbs. That is so female isn't it? Some info is just best to be withheld.
