Happy Pink Saturday.....Dollies, A Sweetie And A Question??? :-)

Well Girlies.... Pink Saturday sure sneaked right up on me! I can't believe it's already January 8th! Wow!

Our dear Beverly hosts this wonderful MEME.....You'll find her and all of the other sweet and creative girlies at www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com

I'd like to introduce you to the dearest little peach today. Her name is Gwendolyn at acharminghome.blogspot.com

You really must pop over and meet this sweet gal. You'll love her. Promise! You'll be uplifted and charmed, I'm sure. ;-) She's having a GIVEAWAY too! You know how we love a giveaway, don't we girlies?

Now, for my little pink today. Yep, I know..........I've posted these dollies before. It was so dark and dreary all day here in the Northwest I just couldn't take any decent pictures.

No problem I told myself.......I'll just dig into the archives. :-) I hope you don't mind.

My daughter collects all things Dionne Quintuplet and this is one of her dolls. Several years ago she asked me to make her a new outfit as her Christmas gift........she was nekkid! :-)

I loved making this for her...........I could sit and do handwork all day long if I had time.

And, this is Betty Sue. No, she wasn't marketed as Betty Sue, but that's what my girl named her when she was just a little gal. I think she got her for Christmas when she was about 4 or so.

She got her AGAIN for Christmas when she was about 6 or so......she LOVED her and had played with her so much her cloth body was shot............we didn't have much so I made her a new body and tons of clothes, quilts, blankets, and a little bed. She was just as thrilled the second time around.

The little outfit above was the THIRD time around! She asked for a new outfit for her too....

Mama does love making doll clothes. :-) And, pleasing my girl............she's VERY sentimental!

Ok..........I have a question too!

How would I go about making a little Bellamere Cottage button for my blog? Maybe, just maybe somebody might want one?

And, I've been trying to do another blog for my favorite girlies and can't figure out how do it? I lost nearly all of you when I was dinking around on my blog one day. I can't figure out what happened there......I'm so sorry. And, I want to add you all back.

It just keeps popping up with THIS blog. I'd like Bellamere Cottage Two?

Oh how I'd appreciate your help.

Have a wonderful weekend dearhearts.

Big hugs and lovies!
Spence

  1. Good morning precious Spencer! Well, I sure don't know how you would create the button of which you speak....or maybe, you go to your dashboard, go to gadgets and use Javascript? I think it is there where you can apply an image and a link as well. Are you interested in doing another blog? COOL! I think that it what you would do. It is not hard. Just find Javascript when you hit gadgets. Your dollies are simply sweet, like you! Anita

I love the doll clothes you made for your girlie!! My Grand rec'd an American girl dool and it would be nice to have clothes for her. The ones they sell are rather pricy...I'll keep looking at the thrift stores.

  12. Spence, your little "girls" are dear. Makes me want to go up in the attic and pull down my box of childhood dolls. They shouldn't be up there in the cold! Thanks for sending me over to visit Gwendolyn. She has a pretty site. Hope you'll stop by for a visit. I'm sharing chocolates today!

  13. Well Spence I'm sorry I can't help you on your 2nd blog or button, but I can tell you how SWEET that doll is. We brought Brittany one nearly Identical to Betty Sue. Her name was Louis, yes a boy name in French.
She's still with us downstairs in a Rubber Maid with all her pretty clothes. I kept Brittany's cutest outfits to put on Louis. They were all from France and Germany. Oh...I'm going to pull her out and brush her hair, put her on my bed and enjoy her like I have enjoyed your daughters.
    Thanks for the memories Spencer.
Happy PS I'm not participating this week. We have company.
    Love Claudie

  14. Oh Spencer, I wish I was better at the computor thing. I have more than one blog and don't know why a second one is not working for you. It's like starting the first one isn't it......hummmmm. I have to think about this question a little more. I do hope you find someone that can help you, I am sure someone would come forward.
Now, as for the button this would be my guess: find a little picture that you like. Then, bloggers would copy it, put it on their blogs and link it back to your blog. I would guess that is how it's done, but I don't have a button so I am not too sure. Good luck with this as well.
I love what you made the little dolly, so much talent in your hands Spencer, Happy Pink Saturday and please don't stress, it's going to come together for you, this I am sure of, Char

  18. Spencer, I'm the lady you need to talk to! Email me privately and I'll sort you out (also the blog button). Most of everything you need is on my Computery page, and any tutorials not there - just ask me and I'll tell you how to do it. Don't despair, there IS a way!

    Happy Pink Saturday.

  20. Hi Spencer!

First of all - that outfit is amazing! You are so darn talented! The Dionne quintuplet doll reminds me of my Tiny Tears (which my mother threw out - she had hand-made clothes from my Grandmother - grrr.)

Someone else created my button, but if you google 'how to make a blog button' there are all sorts of tutorials out there. You should be able to figure it out from their instructions. I'd love to have your button on my blog.

Can't you just click the "Start a New Blog" Button? Or if you want to link it in to your blog, you can have a different http address but still have it registered under your email address and password. I think that is what I did when I created my awards page. I also created a test blog - still under my sign in name and password - but I gave it a different title, if that makes sense.

I don't know if that helps!

    Happy Pink Saturday!

    xo

  34. You get so many wonderful comments from your friends. :) So tell me something - why does one want a button? I don't know what they are. And how do so many people have so many pink things? I love it. I went looking around myself and I have hardly any pick. I'm feeling like a misfit. I wrote on my blog today about SPD and Dyslexia - got some good comments. I've missed you. I have to start buying some pink things!
