Oh you sweet little Girlies...........have I told you lately that I think you're just the best??
I'm so happy to have "met" so many of you. Bloggieville is such a wonderful place, isn't it?
Happy Pink Saturday To 'Ya... :-)
Whew, doing Pink Saturday makes me realize how quickly Saturdays roll around! YIKES.
The sweet little Bride came today with one of our dear friends to do up the posies.
Susan brought a yummy salad and when I began to bless our meal I started that nasty crying. Not the cute little cry when your eyes well up.....no, that slobbery, goopy cry......I could barely pray. I'm just so happy that these two have found each other. Isn't God good?
We all pitched in and had the flowers done and ready to go in no time at all.
And, tomorrow is THE day.
Not a gal who loves minimalism.... :-) I'll pile a whole big 'ol bunch of stuff together.
Some girlies have a wonderful garage where they can run out and spray paint....or whatever. Yeah, mine's just not pretty. Man I can fit a LOT of stuff in a garage. :-)
And, yes.........I LOVE fake flowers. I like the real ones better, but what the heck....a girlie's gotta go with what's in season. And, in Washington right now it's the season of fake flowers. :-)
See, one little item is just not enough for the "over-do" girl...
I started the little topiary from starts from another ivy. Isn't it handy to just keep on makin' new plants?
One of the girlies who came today showed me how to start African Violets. Who knew?
I have three from my Mum's funeral.....I haven't killed them for over a year now!
She'd be so proud. :-)
Just stick that little leaf into water.....just like ivy and it roots! Isn't that fabulous?
Now my sweet chickies.........you MUST go see all of the other lovely PINKS.
I'm sure it will satisfy that pink craving...
Miss Beverly is so dear to host this little party.
Go see her at:
And, have a wonderful weekend.
I'll have pictures of the happy couple in a few days.
(Bobby told Susan this morning that they would be married in 36 hours and 20 minutes.....how romantic is that???)
Huggies and Lovies!

My sweet, precious Spencer,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you and for your friend who in turn, has found happiness! We are happy people!
I have told you once, and I will tell you again; you are a fabulous writer. Your story about how you cried just made me laugh....I could see you DESCRIBING the scenario, and you have a way with moments and words, a skill that does not easily obtain the desired results.
Now you go and have yourself a marvelous PINK SATURDAY!
Bisous, Anita
what a sweet little bird...looks so real! I didn't know that about african violets either & your topiary is looking great!
ReplyDeletehave a wonderful day, hope there's no more crying!! :)

Congratulations to Bobby an Susan! May God bless them with a lifetime of happiness:>)
ReplyDeleteSpencer, I have that same little cottage teapot that you show in a cage! I inherited it from my grandmother and she got it as a wedding gift well over 50 years ago.
I'm looking forward to seeing photos of the wedding! Blessings and joy to everyone, Spencer. Happy Pink Saturday!

ReplyDeleteWell, Spencer....I'm the same way. Great vignettes and happy spring.
ReplyDeleteHi Spencer,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post. I'm happy you are finally beginning to see flowers down there in Washington. Some of my plants are just beginning to peak some green out from the soil. Hollyhocks and Phlox. So exciting. It's raining here today which will help everything grow faster. Yippee..
Have a great weekend.
xo Cathy

Hi, Spencer,
ReplyDeleteLove your post! I am so glad to have met you, too. I love all of your vignettes, and I can totally identify with not being a minimalist. If I love something, I usually don't want just one but at least a dozen. Happy Pink Saturday and thank you so much for stopping by for a visit at Bunny Cottage. Vicki
Thank you my sweet Spencer for coming by to visit my angels....your sister is watching over you in God's presence my dear, and she has got to be so proud of you.
ReplyDeleteBisous, Anita
Fake flowers and daffodils are about the only flower, you're right! Soon it will be tulip time. Thank you for the pretty pink fix and have a grand time at the wedding Spencer!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Could you tell me where you find your stencils like the fleur de lis on the back of your chair? I have been looking EVERYWHERE for some for some projects and I can find NOTHING!
Beautiful pictures! Congratulations on the survival of your African Violets! They are not the easiest things to grow! Mine out of the blue just bloomed last year and I was so excited! Your Mom looks like she was a beautiful lady! Moms are special! I lost mine 3 years ago and I sure miss her! Hope you have a great weekend and Happy Pink Saturday to you! Sherri : )

LOVE that little bird in the first photo. And yes, african violets do root in water. I stayed with a friend in a B&B in California in June of last year. She had a HUGE beautiful African Violet that I loved. She sent 2 leaves home with me on the airplane & they are still in the water but, they do have roots & I bought soil to plant them last week. Now, if I can just get it done. Have a wonderful weekend. I see you are a fan of my friend Karen at Desert Cottage. SHE IS AMAZING! Charlene
ReplyDeleteSpencer, Love the pinks. I really adore your ivy and had no idea that a person could start their own African Violets. I had a few for years -- it's time to get some more.
ReplyDeleteLove the tablescapes and your topiary! It's always such a pleasure to visit you, Spencer - I know it's always going to be such nice eye candy. Isn't PS the best?
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday!
Oh I love your post! All your pretties and the sweet story of your sweet friends getting married! That is so exciting to start a new life!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday!
Hugs, Lisa
Very pretty - Happy late Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteThat is the sweetest little bird in the first photo - so unusual. Thanks for showing all your pretty tablescapes and accessories.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post, Spencer. You are so very talented. Hey I just heard we are suppose to have some fabulous Northwest weather Thursday through Sunday! 70 degrees in Portland on Saturday...We will see... Yipee! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI think we must be kindred spirits...I'm an over the top gal - no bare walls for me, and yes, I have fake flowers all over my house! ...if they make me happy...who cares?!

Everything is so pretty. Love the little bird and the white ones too. Yes.. sometimes we have to make do with silk flowers, but they make them look so real now adays. I have a violet I will give starting a leaf in water a try.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
