Itchin'......

Happy Thursday dear GIRLIES!!!

Oh my.....I AM ITCHIN' to get outside and get my pots planted up for summer.

I am sooooo late getting started this year. It takes me all day to get things goin'....but that's sure nothing compared to Marydon over at blushingrosetoo.blogspot.com. Holy moly....she's planting 32 gazillion posies! Honestly, I've never seen so many plants.....except at a nursery. I can't wait to see all of those pots in about a month!

I am crazy for flowers.........until about the end of August. By then I'm so sick of watering the darn things I wish they'd croak. Shhhhhhhh......don't tell the posies!

See that little rock peeking out of the pot? Very early in my blogging career I mentioned that I collect heart shaped rocks. No sooner had that little bit of information passed my lips when I got a message from Candy at rockcandy56.blogspot.com saying she'd watch for them for me....is that not the sweetest thing?

Well, a short time later this yummy rock arrived from TEXAS....it's not a heart shaped rock, but just look at that little heart in it........Isn't that FAB.U.LOUS? I couldn't believe it. I love my Texas rock....Candy, you're a peach.

Thank you.

Now, this would be my very favorite pot.........LAST YEAR. We had a pretty hard winter and the darn thing is BLACK. It turned black every year, but as soon as spring showed it's lovely face it would green up nice and PURTY again........nope, not this year. The darn things staying black. It is NOT lovely. That's a little bird peeking out of the top.... I love him.

Yep, another shot from last year. See that great piece of garden art?

We have had 3 or 4 of those little canvas patio covers. I LOVED this one. See the little fleur de lis? Ahhhhhh.....so cute? Well, a couple of years ago we got a really good snow and the darn cover ripped with all the weight. So, I just took three of those little bugers and used zip ties and put them together. Pretty clever, huh?

As I've said MANY times, they don't call me Tightwad Tilly for nothin'.......I can't bear to throw anything away. Not exactly a hoarder, but pretty darn close.

My snowball tree is finally growing up to be a regular tree. For the first two or three years my little Ruby ate it down to the ground. It was NOT pretty. I guess she's decided to leave the darn thing alone now....bless her little heart.

I made a tiny slip for a little chair today. I'll try to take pix in the next few days so I can show you.

Have a great day sweet chickies!

You're the BEST.

Lovies and Huggies,

xoxoxoxo

Spencer

  2. That was a darling story and stroll through your garden, dearest! I haven't planted my pots yet because we are leaving to California for only ten days, but I really don't want to burden my neighbor to come and water for me...maybe one pot I can get started and have her water it, but I can't expect her to water the 10-15 pots I usually plant....Oh, I want my flowers!!!

    Lovely, lovey walk dear! Anita

  3. I did a few pots, but I agree, watering them all the time can be a pain in the you know what! I need to do pots to get some color on our large patio. I really need to get some flowers in the ground, though, what with my daughter's shower in a few weeks.

  6. Oh your garden is looking so very lovely! We are still a bit cool here in Colorado- my iris are blooming -seems like alot of things are off to a slow start. Still a bit to cold to get my garden things in the ground except the cooler weather items.

Am sure you are enjoying all your pretties in your yard!

  8. Morning Spencer!

I'm up at the crack of black and thought I'd stop over and say "hi" to you too!

Think we're actually getting weather that will allow you to work in that garden today??? Ughhh..Maybe I'll go to the Snohomish Farmer's Market today and get inspired by some heirloom plant starts,,,or at least buy some veggies!

I think I'll be in the craft room again. Or over the kitchen sink "burning" tulle!

    Have a great Day!

  9. It's looking beautiful. I love the plant vignette you put together in your first picture. Your other flowers appear to be thriving. You must sing to them a lot, huh?

  12. What a fantastic garden you have. My dream is to one day actually have an hour or 2 each day to putter around my garden all Summer ~ alas, children do not make it easy. I also live in CT and the Springs/Summers are fickle ~ if you don't have an amazing green thumb, things may not work in your favor. Now you've got me itchin' to get out there - its babies nap time so here I come:)

  15. Pretty garden you have there. I know what you mean about all the watering. Although we are gone in the summer because of the heat, I have pretty much the same issue living in AZ in the winter.

    Blessings,

    Jo

  16. So fun to touch base with old friends...we've never met but share so much.
Happy smiles as I saw that you had come be visit. I have been swamped with life and lack of inspiration for blogging. But thankfully these things ebb and flow. Moved MIL into a retirement home and all the activities keep her busy. She has been there a month and already teaching a chair hula class once a week. 92 and moving more than most...I'm hoping it's the hula and I have a go start!
Hope your time comes soon for working out in the garden because if you are like me it's a time that's close to the Lord as well.
    Blessings across the miles ;-)
