Happy Birthday To My Precious Girl

How Can it be that forty one years have passed since this precious, little treasure came into my life?

I have been so blessed.

I was thrilled when the Dr. told me I had a little girl, I was beside myself with joy.

Still am.

And then she began to talk and develop her own little personality.

She was HYSTERICAL. And. still. is.

She was about three when we started having Mother-Daughter Days, doing whatever sounded like fun at the moment.

We still have them. In fact, we'll be spending the day together today.

A little shopping, a nice lunch and a LOT of laughing.

A lot has happened since those childhood days, of course.

She's become a Mom herself..... that's my sweet, sweet boy in that photo.

They're dressed up for the sock hop at school.

Aren't they just too cute?

And here with her best friend, at Julie's wedding.

My girl has the biggest heart of anyone I've ever known. She has a sense of humor that just won't stop. I laugh until my sides hurt at some of the things she comes up with.

She's back in school again. She's learning all the ins and outs of becoming a paralegal.

I'm so proud of her. She's super, duper smart too.

Not to mention the MOST wonderful mother.

I'm crazy about her.

I'm thrilled that God chose ME to be her Mommy.

It's the bestest thing EVAH.

Happy Birthday Darling Daughter.

YMLY
(Which means Your Mama Loves You.... I've put it on tons of things for her since she was just a little smidge of a thing).

Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful YOU! THANK YOU!

Sweet, sweet girlies...........thank you SO much for all of your kind words of comfort and encouragement.........you're just the BEST!

I am amazed that women from all over the world connect on the net and are "there" for each other....So many wrote to say they had lost their dear Mom's too......and some had lost other family members.

My heart goes out to all of you. While I understand it's all a part of life; that doesn't make loss any less painful. I'm glad we can support one another through all of life's journey.

I love you allllll!

You helped me soooo much!

God bless you all....ABUNDANTLY!!

I did just a pinch of shopping on my Mum's Birthday. I've been looking for months for a ring I could wear in her memory. Her birthstone is peridot, so I was looking for that specifically.

My sweet Mummy started buying me "real" jewelry when I was just a little girl....I know she'd LOVE this one!

I found lots of pretty things, but nothing that seemed "just perfect"....

Until...........

I found this!

Isn't that just delish????

I apologize for the crummy pix......I am just not a photographer! :-)

So, there you are........my Show and Tell Friday contribution!

I'm sure you 'd love to see more...

Just jet on over to:

You'll be glad you did!

Hugs to all!

My Sweet Mum
1925-2008

I'm going to give this whole blogging business a shot. I've been working on it for several days......this is HARD! You know, I think all this techie stuff is much easier for the younger set!
I thought this would be a great way to journal so my darling little grandson would have an idea what I did with my days when he gets a bit older.

My little grandson isn't actually so little. He's 8 1/2 and a big guy! He's 4'7" and weighs 102! He is NOT a petite child. I adore him. I'm from an all girl family so, when my grandson was born I must say I was very disappointed for a few minutes. It's been a total joy ever since then. He's taught me things I never thought I'd even want to know! I am a proud grandma........or Hemma as he calls me.

I also thought starting a blog might be therapeutic for me in a way. My precious Mum just passed away.......the day after Christmas. She had been sick for a while, but I still was not prepared for life without her. I'm an orphan now. I miss her so much and still can't believe I can't call and talk to her or have a cup of tea with her. I am so broken hearted.

Happier talk........I LOVE making things. It has entertained me and given me joy for years. I've dabbled in loads of different things, but always seem to come back to my favorites.....quilting and painting. When I have time I'd rather go THRIFTING than anything else. I love re-painting and re-making pre-loved items. My dad used to tell me I couldn't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear and I've spent most of my life trying to prove him wrong. I'd love to share ideas and tips for saving money with you, as well as some of my projects.
