I just can't believe it....I'm just sooo darn excited! I WON....I actually WON.... I have NEVER, in my whole (read: long, really, really long) life been a winner of things....And, I've won a printer (several months ago) AND this yummy prize! How wonderful!
Do you remember the 3rd Annual Cottage Charm Giveaway? Oh my, there were so many delicious prizes! I LOVED this one.....From the SWEETEST little gal, Marilyn over at Ivy and Lace Cottage.....Isn't that book, BLOOM, just sooo lovely. I had a chance to sit down with a lovely cup of breakfast tea and immerse myself in it yesterday. Yes, I was supposed to be cleaning, but a girl needs a break, doesn't she? :-) And, lilac was my Mum's very favorite fragrance. I always bought her lilac candles and oils. I'll have the essence of my sweet Mum all around when I burn that little lovely. And, that dishcloth?? HANDMADE! Holy cow, handmade dishcloths???.....it is the softest thing ever! I told Marilyn that I simply could NOT use it...and she assured me that she loved to make them to USE... I don't think I'm going to be able to though. And, a journal! YIPPPEEEE!!! I could have a nice cup of hazelnut chocolate while I do some writing. Oh, I DO have a lot to say!

Thanks so much Marilyn. You're a doll. I appreciated every single thing in my lovely package. I am THRILLED! :-)
And, that adorable.......ADORABLE Sue over at Sullivan and Murphy tagged me to tell you six things about myself. Is that ALL??? :-) Oh yes, I could tell you LOTS of stories. *Wink*.
Ok....here goes.
1. I watch Jon and Kate. There, I said it. I know, it's just too embarrassing, isn't it? I HATE reality shows and really watch VERY little TV other than the news, but I got hooked on this one. Aren't those little kids just too cute? Lots of noise in that house. I'm just sooo sad that things have gone so far off the tracks there. It always made me sad for Jon that Kate talked to him so disrespectfully. How hard is it to be kind? I don't think I'll continue now that there are problems. That's just no fun to watch.
2. My Mum's parents came over on the boat from Manchester, England to Ellis Island. We actually found their names on the log. It describes their skin, height and whatnot. It's so cute. I ADORED them. So, 100% English on my Mum's side. My dad was about 3/4 English and 1/4 German, so I'm pretty much English. And, I love ALL things English too. Oh, how I love the old fashioned prints and china! I got my creativity from my Grandma. Gosh I miss her.
3. I don't like to clean house, but I do?? Does that make sense? I complain about it, but I soooo enjoy a spiffy house. I love order. I used to work for a Dr. whose wife always said "WITHOUT ORDER THERE CAN BE NO PEACE". Isn't that the truth? I think it actually saves time to be tidy because you don't spend all that time looking for things. :-)
4. Yeah, well, I still haven't started Spring Cleaning..........YIKES! It's soooo involved and I dread digging in, but once I start I love doing it? Why am I procrastinating? Well, lots of sewing to do first and I LOVE the finished product, but I don't always enjoy the process. I get sooo frustrated. I'd better get on it or it's going to be Christmas.
5. I love to laugh. I laugh all day long. I laugh at silly things.....things just tickle me. Now, my darling Hubbs can't tell a decent joke to save his life, and he doesn't really SAY funny things, but he makes me laugh ALLLL the time. He has these expressions that just put me in stitches. He's such a good guy. How did I get so lucky? I love you Muffin....
6. Six already??? Whew, time flies! I make things. Lots and lots of things. I've often joked that when I croak I want my tombstone to say "I made it myself".... :-) Hoping I don't have to get busy on that quite yet. I still have lots of laughing left to do.... :-)
Oh, and SEVEN......I LOVE all of you. You've encouraged me and lifted me up when I've been soooo down. What an awesome group of women. You are FABULOUS. I am blessed and grateful. Very, very grateful.
Thank you from the bottom of my HEART!
Hugs and blessings,
Spencer
PS.....I forgot all about the tagging part.....Here's what I'd like to do....if you'd like to BE TAGGED...consider yourself tagged! If you'll let me know you're running with it, please let me know and I'll add it to my blog! :-) xoxoxox

ReplyDeleteOkay,
ReplyDeleteI did my usual lingering on your blog banner (love it), and the picture of your mum (she must have been a love). Then I read your best blog post ever. Congratulations, you deserve the tag, and I'm glad you won such a pretty prize. Your laughter hopped out of the screen and jumped on me, lol. I laugh at silly things, but in this family it's me who can't tell the jokes. I get too tickled and start laughing before I get to the punchline. They always tell me, "We're not laughing at you, we're laughing with you" SURE.......
Blessings,
Theresa @ Cottage Violets

Hello sweet Spencer...Anita over here at the castle, I just adore you! What a darling you are. Now, crowns are a rare thing. However, let me give you a tip. During the school year I am busy teaching so I have no time for crafts, but now, I am on vacation and honey, I am free. What I have been doing is I have a couple of metal doodads (they are ornate corners from victorian picture frames) and they serve well as a crown ornament. I have just been putting together pieces of metal and rings that I already have. For the ones that I didn't make, go to Barb at French Elements. She has metal crowns. Another friend is Rosemary at Roses Petite Maison (she makes paper). Now, for the pièce de resistance...for about $100. you can get a handmade crown from Lori Guiterrez at Decorating with Art. If you visit her, scroll down past the Day of the Dead post and look at her crystal crowns. They are stunning. I am waiting to save some change because I want one! I hope that helps. I bid you success Votre Majesté (yes ma'am, you are a queen too!) and I hope you find a crown jewel! Blessings, Anita
ReplyDeleteYour too funny!! So glad you won,and so glad your so happy about it(???).I have that book, and it is lovely, I never tire of looking at it!! Enjoy your treasures, all the best, Chrissy
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky! Love your giveaway goodies, I never win anything...sigh!
ReplyDeleteLoved getting to know you a little better, I have to admit that I'm a Jon & Kate junkie too! I actually saw her speak in April, she's even prettier in person but she does have a wicked tongue. I hope they work it out and that she goes to Control Freaks Anonymous!
Enjoy your blog so much and I'm adding you to my blog roll so I can keep better track of you.
Oooooooh, awesome win! That is great!
ReplyDeleteI watch Jon and Kate too. :)
Spencer, Thank you so much for participating in my Tag! Isn't it fun to learn about others? Congrats on your win! Maybe I should hold a give-away on my 100th post- that will be a milestone for me -LOL Hugs, Sue
