Happy Thursday Little Sweeties!!
I'm cruising along on the pillows for the den right now.... :-)
Oh, how I love progress.
I bought some delicious dropcloth fabric.....ok, so it's NOT delicious, but it's really inexpensive and quite sturdy for pillows. I already had a bit of vintage lace....(yes, I collect that too)..I think this was actually a bodice/yoke for a little nightie, but it was perfect for this project.
I've turned it on it's side, carefully tacked it to my dropcloth, added some buttons....

A better shot....see the little bit of vintage lace? You can always click on the pictures for a close-up. It's so beautiful.....I can't believe someone took time to make this little lovely. I think it's simply amazing.
Number 5 you ask? Yeah, no significance. I just think it's a cute number. I like number 2 too!
I have about 40 gazillion vintage buttons........don't tell the hubbs, I just bought more yesterday.....let that be our secret. I think I may be a bit OCD??? :-)
Wishing you all a wonderful day...
More coming soon.

Spence

Just found your sweet blog. What a happy place. I too named our cottage for the same reasons. Mine is...Sea Cottage...and that is the name of my blog too. My best buddy is my puppy Bella Bleu...so of course, I love your cottage's name. I will add you to my 'cottage companions'. Please come by and say hi.
ReplyDeleteI love this pillow! I LOVE NUMBER 9~
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Spencie!
Love, Rebecca
What magnificent work you do! That pillow is simply stunning, I am super impressed!

I just had to come across here and thank you for your comment on my dancing post, and even more appreciative after reading about you. The polio. your lovely sister and the bones. Your bones may not be strong but your mind is!! what a powerful story for everyone to read. When I complain about so many things that have gone wrong for me and my family over the last few years I thank god that my children and I are still one strong unit, and that we have each other and that I found dance, even at this age.
ReplyDeleteOh and your cushion is gorgeous !!!
I love the lace idea against the back cloth.
Come by again.
best wishes Ginny (in the UK)
I love the pillow....everything about it! The graphic #5 just popped off the pillow and really made a statement!! I like the idea of using dropcloth....and the lace and buttons were the bling!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog thru Tales from an OC Cottage and I wanted to say hi. I look forward to catching up on all of your past posts. Have a great day!!

ReplyDelete#5 is my favorite, too! (It was and is my kid's number for sports) Did you paint the # or is a iron-on? I've enjoyed my visit here this morning...such a cheery place full of fun and projects.

ReplyDeleteHi Spence,
ReplyDeleteYep, love that pillow you made. The lace, the number and buttons, so whimsy. If you ever feel that the pillow needs a new home, I'll send you my address, it would look fabulous on my white slip covered sectional!!:)) Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a sweet comment.
Smiles for you, Janice
Spencer, you are something else! Look at that cutest of cute pillows! My, you are one talented lady. I love it, and I love the number on it. I like numbers, too. Five is good, but I also like 8 because it is the same up and down... wish I were... my bottom half is bigger! ;-)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila ... hope to see you on Pink Saturday! :-)
Wow, Spencer what a unique pillow, I really do like that. Funny how different numbers or letters draw us to them. I like 3 and 7, not sure why either.
ReplyDeleteI am late in getting around to see you, forgive me, I always enjoy your blog.
Barbara
Love that pretty pillow! Hope you feel better soon!
