It's all about the wording, isn't it???
I love getting the emails that have boo-boos in them.... Funny newspaper titles.... and signs... don't these folks READ what they write?
At any rate they ALWAYS make me laugh out loud.
And, nothing's better for your health that a good guffaw, right?
This has been my longest blogging break ever...
We got the den painted. OH MY GOODNESS. I picked out the most delicious chocolate brown...it was delish...and with the cream accessories it would have been yummy.... See that "would have been"???
The itsy-bitsy Bellamere Cottage has rather an open floor plan.
That's really nice and I LOVE it.
However............
If you stand in the kitchen or living room you can see into two of the bedrooms.
The living room is VERY pale blush pink.
The bedroom (the just finished one) is pale blue.
And then...........this BROWN room?
It just wasn't going to make it for me.
I was so mad at myself......but we took a trip to Home Depot and bought a reallllly unusual color..........CREAM.... Yeah, I KNOW.... Not too interesting, is it?
But, from the kitchen it doesn't look funny and I still think it's going to be ok.
Sooooooooo...........covering BROWN with CREAM??
Not a picnic.
I will highly recommend the new Behr paint with primer already included though.
GREAT PAINT!
My little desk area is all finished.........It's going to be wonderful compared to what I had before. Can't wait to show you.
I've been sitting with a recycle bin and a shredding bin all day sorting all that dasterdly paper stuff..........for HEAVEN'S sake....where does it all come from?
Do I really have to keep it?
So, to do the desk and paint we unhooked the computer. No problem, I can use the Hubb's laptop so I could keep up with blogging.
WHERE WAS MY BRAIN?
No wifi if the stuff isn't all hooked up, so I was computerless for days and days.
And, I've had my little grandson here since Monday. He is hilarious so he's a joy to have and I wouldn't miss time with him for ANYTHING.
I probably don't even need to tell you I am soooo darn pooped.
So, girlies, that's my story.
We've had lousy weather so I haven't taken passable pictures of the finished bedroom and bath yet.... Soon, I hope!
Hope you've all been well.
Love you much!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Huggies and lovies,
S

LOL! I love that last one, Spence! Oh, too funny!
ReplyDeleteI am having a battle with brown, too. It's been going on for months. Still not sure what to do, but we shall see.
Hope you are well. I'm tired, too, and I think I am about ready for my summer break. We shall see.
I have missed your posts, but I understand wanting to spend time with your little man!
Happy Pink Saturday...
XO,
Sheila :-)
Good Morning Spencer,
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have been one busy lady. I love the pictures you posted, I got a good chuckle out of them on an early Saturday morning.
Look forward to seeing your rooms.
Jane
Funny signs! Looking forward to seeing your transformation. The brown with the cream did sound nice ~ maybe you can reverse it.
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh this morning. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, those pictures are hysterical!! Isn't it amazing some of the things you see!
ReplyDeleteWarmest hugs, Brenda
You've been BUSY, chick! Let's see pix of all of it soon.
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Connie
I've soooo done that with paint. My upstairs landing is like your den. It had to be neutral or it clashed with everything else.
ReplyDeleteOur living area is the same. One room flows to another.
CREAM RULES!
Love to you Spencie. Loved laughing this early.

Ooooooooo, I can't wait to see pictures!!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your grand!

I got such a good laugh her today sweet Spence! I love all those funny signs. I couldn't pick a fave, but the one with the cow falling off the cliff is hilarious. I have never seen such a thing. Now hubs is going to be wondering why I'm laughing. I'll bet even though he's a cop, he's still never seen that sign either!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe what a hard working girl you are and so determined. Wow,
I would have just lived with it (the paint color)...but not you, you go for it girl!!! You're my hero!
hugs
Hi Spencer!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've been a busy girl.
Love those funny signs. The last one is the best.
Can't wait to see your finished projects.
hugs
Sissie
G'eve, Spencer ~ My, you HAVE been busy! I have made the same paint mis-choice before ... but I love to paint so I just keep plugging on. Anxious to see what all you've done ...
ReplyDeleteLove the chuckles!
Have a lovely summer's eve ~
TTFN ~ Hugs, Marydon
Hello Spense, glad to see you back after a break. Know you enjoy spending time with your grandson.
ReplyDeleteIt's true - about the jokes - it's the wording that makes them all funny. lol
sandie♥
Cute, funny signs and cannot wait to see your photos of the finished rooms. I have had a toothache that hopefully will be fixed Monday morning at 8:30...not fun but it could be worse! So this weekend is not too exciting. Hoping to be able to go to church tomorrow and then Hubby retires on Tuesday. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are reconnected. Get some rest, Spence!
Love, B
Funny signs! Can't wait to see what you have been up to!
ReplyDeleteNow it would be a very bad day should a cow fall off of a cliff onto the car.
ReplyDeleteCute post, Spencer!!
xo

Cutest darned post!! I giggled all through it..and yes..I discovered the paint with the primer in it! Great stuff! Paper stuff...who knows where it all comes from but I am buried in it!!
ReplyDeleteI smile every time, yes every time I come here to visit my sweet Spencer! Dearest, I was gone for 11 days on a lovely vacation and have missed all of you so much. I wish you success on your renovation; wish me luck as well as we embark on our dream of adding two rooms to our house!!!! The construction starts this month!!!
ReplyDeleteGood to be back, Anita
Thanks for posting those funny signs. Glad to hear a good report on that Behr paint - I've been thinking of trying it.
