Yep, that is a repeat picture, but I just can't do a blog post without a photo... :-) ....so I cheated.
I wanted to tell you little sweeties how much I appreciated the Birthday wishes...
You are SO kind.
I made it over the hump and now am firmly established as a SIXTY year old and I guess there's just no going back now.
I had a little trip to Portland, Oregon for my birthday and had a lovely time....
My plan was to stop at Camas Antique mall on the way down, but that little town was having themselves a PARADE.. Now, that really interfered with my plan... The streets were blocked off and there was nowhere to park so we just went onto Portland. Phoooey. I need to go back one of these days.
We went to Monticello Antique Mall... :-) GREAT! And, I did find a couple of beensie things to bring home...then onto Stars and Splendid and Stars.... Just a smidge of fabric there...and we didn't stay long. Portland was having RECORD breaking heat. It was HORRIBLE.... One Hundred DEGREES! YIKES! My feet looked like little sausages, they were so swollen. Not a good look.
So, now I'm home and back to work on the little cottage here. I promise to have pix one of these days!
Sooooooooo........thanks again you little dearhearts.
I appreciate you more than I can say. You are the most thoughtful girlies.
Huggies and Lovies,
Spencer

Glad you had a good time, sweets. I've always wanted to stop at places I've heard about when we go out there but hubs is always in such a hurry to get where we are supposed to. I may break his leg next time so I can drive. ;-)

Happy belated Birthday, Spencer! It sounds like you had a lovely time in Portland in spite of the heat {which is everywhere}.
ReplyDeleteStay cool!

Oh, that's just a little hump...I'm right behind you girlfriend! I just hit the big
ReplyDelete5-0! So if you slow down, I will catch up! lol
Hope you had a great day!
Lou Cinda :)
Spencer, I'm so glad you had a wonderful birthday! And I'm glad you found some treasures, but sorry you didn't make it to the antique mall you love best. Sorry about the heat, too. We live with it here, and you acclimate after a while. But I generally stay inside during the summer. Do you know it has been hotter in places up north and in North Carolina than it has been in Florida? I think everyone has had higher highs (with the heat index) than us. Hopefully, we will all be cooling off soon.
ReplyDeleteLove you, Spence!
XO,
Sheila :-)
P.S. You know how much I appreciate your sweet birthday wishes to me, too. You are an angel, and I love you dearly! And if I'm repeating myself, I don't care! LOL! XOXOXO
ReplyDeleteHi Spencie...So glad you had a good birthday. Sorry about the hot weather in Portland. Utah was also sweltering. Back home for two days now and the weather is heavenly...mid 70's.
ReplyDeleteI went back and looked at your bedroom. Very lovely and what a lot of sewing you have one. I love it all and think the little chair on the nightstand is so cute! You have the knack, Girlie!
Love, B
Lord willing some day you will look back at your 60's with fondness!! I will be 60 in October 2012!!
ReplyDeleteJust remember..."the older the fruit the sweeter the juice".....

Sounds like fun! I've heard Monticello is great. I hope to visit with my sister soon. She said it's a nightmare at Christmastime though.

ReplyDeleteHeat and parades or not, it sounds like you had an enjoyable birthday! I think it's a good idea to take the day and do something you want.
ReplyDeleteO too hot for a parade...I always feel for the participants when it's that hot. Glad you had a good time...hope your feet are better:)

Love that picture! I'm so glad you had a lovely birthday even if it was hot. Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve next!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry I missed your Birthday. Happy Belated Birthday! Glad you had a good trip. A friend of ours was late to his own wedding this summer in Reno because of a parade he wasn't expecting. He didn't know how to get to the church going any other way so he had to park and run!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Dawn
Glad you had a great day in Portland, even if it was too hot! Happy birthday to you!!!
