Can it already be Monday? Whoa, that weekend just zipped by.
Several months ago I shared that the Hubbs and I had gotten a new bed.... well, it all started with the need to get a new mattress......then the Hubbs decided we should really go for a king size this time. Well, that means finding a new frame too.... and sheets, pillows, down comforter.......and on and on and on.
I was thrilled to have found a frame very similar to the old one. It's always been my favorite style. I actually had a vintage iron bed that was very similar many years ago in a full size. I just like them. Plain and simple.
So the photo above is the before. Queen size. I was quite concerned about fitting a king into our little cottage.
And, there's the new one. I am in love. It fits just fine, doesn't it? Well, there's no room to do aerobics, but then......I never did that anyway.
I felt overpowered at first, but now I'm really used to it.
Oh, and the sleeping.........what a huge difference. Have you tried memory foam? My shoulders and hips don't hurt anymore either.
We got an iComfort set. It is simply DEEE.LISH.
I feel like a new woman. :-)
I bought the same Loire matelasse spread and shams (Penneys) I had for the queen and re-used the pillows I already had.
Hmmmm.... I LOVE pillows. There are eleven on this bed. :-)
And, the details.... I love details. Isn't this little wreath just the cutest darn thing?
I bought the frame through Carolina Rustica and it's a Wesley Allen bed.... just in case you're interested. It was by far the best buy on the net.
I'm going Sweet Sally at Smiling Sally for Blue Monday.
Do pop over. You'll love her post. She has some shoes on her post you just won't believe. I could NEVAH walk in those things.
Happy President's Day.
Huggies and Lovies.

I SO LOVE this bed! Smart lady to get the same covering to mix with your pillows. I want a king size...love your new bed frame..it's all so pretty! :D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Spencer!! I have a King bed too and it is so AWESOME! Like you, I was afraid it would not FIT! But it did and I don't think I could ever downsize now
ReplyDeleteYour bedding is gorgeous! Love the pillows!

Love your style! I bought a new lamp for one of my bedrooms this weekend. Pop over and check it out. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteOh I do so love that bed! I know what you mean about no room for aerobics (not that I do them either) but we have a king and a small bedroom. We need a traffic light just to get around the bed without bumping into one another!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog today!
I'm sure you will enjoy the larger bed. I don't understand how two people can sleep in anything smaller! Very pretty!♥♫
ReplyDeleteFabulous, Spencer!! I love, also, the old vintage iron bed look. Actually, I have my Mother's & treasure it.
ReplyDeleteYour bedding is wonderful. We just got the memory foam mattress & I agree ... slept like a baby for the first time in ages. They are excellent.
If I had a king size I'd never find him in the nights to cuddle with ... chuckle!
Beautiful, but then I saw your home & it is EXQUISITE, DETAILS TO THE INTH are smashing!
Have a wonderful week ~

Your bed is just wonderful...I would love all that room to sleep in but our bedroom would never hold it. Pretty, too...love all the detail! I am a pillow person, too. I have 8 pillows on the bed right now! lol!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

ReplyDeleteOh, I'm jealous; a new bed!!! It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh, a new bed! It is lovely and fits very nice in the room.
ReplyDeleteHi Spencer, I think your iron bed and bedding looks so pretty. I too love the wreath. We have a queen size bed and love it so much. We spent most of our married life in a double four poster. we sleep much better in our queen. We love the memory foam too. Happy sleeping.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Jeanne
Everything looks beautiful Spencer, as always! Glad you are getting better sleep now. The mattress does make a big difference. Stay well and enjoy everything around you! We need a king but Jim won't stay on his side so it really doesn't matter I am always hanging over the edge.
ReplyDeleteLove, Bonnie
Such a delight! I definitely need a big bed!
ReplyDeletePlease come by when you get a chance and see my BLUE, have a great week.
Wow, love the whole set. And the bed is very pretty. I have an older white iron bed that has been in the family for a long time but not as detailed as yours. Happy Presidents Day!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to be off but we didn't get the day off
as a holiday ...
I love your bed! This is such a sweet cottage look! :D I heard of memory foam! Gad to hear its making you sleep good! :D
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sweet & simple transition.
ReplyDeleteWe're also thinking of buying a new mattress. Glad you're getting better rest. Your room looks so cozy!
ReplyDeleteOMG... I'm glad your daughter is feeling better Spencer... but you have to wonder right? Not sure about BP med's either. I've heard nasty things about some of them.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE your purse hubby bought you for Valentine. You lucky gal you.
Now, your pretty bedroom looks so comfy and good for you for keeping the same "toppings". It is very BIG!! We've always had queen beds, but once we bought a KING... well we couldn't find each other for a year... and that was the end of the King bed in our lives, lol.
We sleep on a water bed mattress with a pillow top... LOVE....
Hope you are having a good weekend sweet Spencer.
Love you
