Pink Saturday At Bellamere Cottage

Today I'm sharing pictures of a few little vignettes around the Cottage...

That's my newest tole tray peeking out there. :-)

It actually has lots of pink.......naturally that didn't show up in the picture.

I wanted that little glass basket vase for YEARS. My darling daughter bought it for me. Gosh I love her.

I have little lamps EVERYWHERE....they all have teensie little bulbs in them, but they make things look so cozy, don't you think? This one is next to my kitchen sink. The DH wants to know if there will be any counter space left. HAHAHAHA!

That little plant? Wirevine. I thought maybe I could root it like ivy. Yeah, not so much. I called the local greenhouse to ask how to propagate it....you just stick a snip into the soil. I want to make a topiary with it. I'll try that next spring.

That dome-ish do-hickey? Goodwill. Oh how I do LOVE the GW. I think it was about five dollars. I've had it years.

Doesn't gingham photograph strangely? It always looks like op-art to me.

Little thrift store chair....beauty make-over. I found the needlepoint at a garage sale and I was determined to find a chair to use it on.....my kitchen is robin egg blue with bits of black.

The round topiary? Yep, coat hanger. Just bend it into a circle and add ivy.

Let's Take A Trip To My Beautiful Daughter's For Pink Saturday.....You'll LOVE This!

Oh my sweet and dear girlies....

I hope you've been having a wonderful week.

Lots going on here at the cottage. I'm actually making some progress on the den. It's small stuff, but any progress is great in my book.....so I'm THRILLED....

I think you're going to LOVE this little tour. My precious daughter has such a way of setting up her little vignettes.........she loves to do it and it shows! She is such a special girl....totally delightful, and funny....oh my.....she's REALLY funny........hilarious, in fact. :-)

She sort of takes after me in the collecting department. Yeah, she's not a minimalist either....empty spots? Oh heavens no! :-)

There's a little picture of my dad.....see him in his uniform??......Quite a long time ago I shared a picture of this darling girl with my dad. She was CRAZY about her grandpa and he was totally taken with her. It was wonderful to see........so sweet.

After my Mum's funeral we went to the graveside.....just my girl and I....My Mum is buried next to my dad. Those dice were on his grave. We have no idea how they got there. How strange. Anyway......we saved them....

We both collect these pictures..........they're called "The Light Of The World" by C. Bosseron Chambers. We both realize that one is probably enough, but we both have LOADS of them...

They're so precious, aren't they?

My girl adds a little do-dad to nearly everything....a flower, ribbon, bow....tassel, whatever. She loves adornments. Me too! :-) She's MUCH better at it than I am.

My daughter's house is quite old....I think it was built in the 20's. It's DELISH!

She has this little faux fireplace.....original to the house........it had one of those little niches where the mirror is. For years I suggested a mantle there and something large to cover the hole. She wasn't too keen on the idea, but one day she relented. I built it for her and it's one of her favorite things to decorate. I don't think she could fit another thing on it. I LOVE all of her pretties and look at them every time I visit.

The little banner is hard to see, but it says F.L.O.W.E.R.S

Several years ago Pottery Barn had a vintage wooden folding yardstick fashioned into a crown. We were all over that and both did one....see it standing up behind the crown picture? Yes...crowns are the theme....and she IS a princess. The cranberry glass belonged to my Mum and that's her in the tiny, round frame in front of it.

You can see the reflection of her old light fixture in the mirror. It belonged to her husband's grandmother.

This shelf looks much brighter than it is...it's actually a very pale robin's egg blue....I made it for them when they bought the house.

Her little pup is a Westie (Trixie Belle), so she collects vintage Westie things.......

I hope you've enjoyed the little tour. I'll take more pix so I can show you more. Doesn't she have a knack for display?

From the time she was just a little girl I put YMLY on EVERYTHING for her...her lunch sacks, notes, handmade items.........it means "Your Mama loves you"....

So............Sweet girl............YMLY!
I am so blessed and couldn't have asked for more.

Now, I know you're just itchin' to see more lovely pinks, right?

Beverly is hosting this fabulous event and you can visit her at:

She's asked that we actually link to the Pink Saturday post, but I can't figure out how to do it. I'm sorry. :-(

Have a wonderful weekend darling girlies!

God bless you!

Happy Pink Saturday!!!!

Thank you so much for coming to visit! I LOVE all of you! :-)

Oh yes!!!! There are lots of sweet pinks this Saturday. That dear Beverly over at www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com hosts this little pink party. You'll want to zip right on over and get your PINK FIX! :-)

Yep....fake flowers. I know lots of people hate them, but I've gotta say...I just LOVE me some nice fake flowers....especially if they're pink. I wanted a little glass basket like this one for a very long time. My sweet little daughter bought this one for me as a little giftie. Isn't it cute?? And, I know I've said everything is so much cuter with a nice bow on it.....so, why not tie some around a nice little group of vintage bibles. One of these old gals has notes in it. I LOVE that. I used to be so afraid to mess up my bible, but now.....yep, I write in it.....and this one is so sweet because of it's dear little markings.

I collect little vintage dog figurines. This is just one of MANY! Gotta love a little dog.

A peek at the corner of the kitchen. .......we don't have a HomeGoods anywhere near where I live, but they do have a nice one in Portland. I got the petite cake/cookie stand there. It was a wonderful day! The lamp is a bunch of old glass stuff that I put together. The ribbed part that you see is actually half of a set of candlesticks.....and that darling shade? Tuesday Morning. Can you believe it? I liked it so well, I bought two.

Well, I'll be darned. My darling daughter bought this lovely little pillow for me too....isn't she sweet? Gosh, she's a good girl.

Yeah, this is NOT a nice big tole tray, but one of the beensie ones. I love it though.

I bought this little medicine cabinet a million years ago. I've used it for all kinds of things, but right now I have tiny doo-dads in it.

Ok....I'm pooped and I really should have gone to bed a long time ago. We went out to dinner for my precious grandson's birthday and tomorrow is his party....whoa....now that's a lot of party for this old gal! I'd better get some zzzzzzz's.

I forgot my camera at my daughter's so I didn't have the pix I had planned for Pink Saturday....I'll save them for next week.

Hugs to all!

Have a blessed and safe weekend.

The Little Bathroom At Bellamere Cottage For Pink Saturday!!!!

Happy Pink Saturday! I'm going out of town today, so I'm not going to be able to peek at everyone else's beauties until I get home......but I'll sure look forward to it. I've decided I'm a busybody.......isn't it fun looking into other ladies' homes? I've gotten so much inspiration by the love that all you gals put into your homes and gardens. Lovely!

Above is an adorable little A.E. Mitchell plaque my daughter bought for me. We love them and collect them whenever we can. God bless her, she has such an eye for these things. We were at a flea market several months ago ..........I went into a booth, came out..........she went in and danced out with an adorable little plaque. DANG!

This is my bathroom.........my husband has his own. It's not
soooo girly! :-)

I love not sharing. Isn't that bad? But all that steam in the bathroom when you're trying to get ready? And, he is not a five minute bathroom guy. He takes longer than I do!
Shhhhhhh.......don't tell him I mentioned that. ;-)

If you click on my photos you can see a bigger image. I'm hoping you'll be able to read this motto......it's one of my very favorites and I read it often. Words to live by!

This would be the "potty" shot........I tried to leave that little lovely out of the pictures. It's just not pretty, is it??? :-) I love this tole tray. As I've said......I have them in EVERY room! I bought the little shelf years ago at either Joann's or Michaels'.....And, I bought the little clock a zillion years ago at Mervyn's. I neeeeeeeed a clock in the bathroom. I can dink around so long and if I'm not careful, I'll be late. The little drawer do-hicky came from Target quite a long time ago.

The curtains and shower curtain are made with vintage white linen damask tablecloths. The have such a lovely look to them. I really didn't enjoy sewing on it, however. It's a big wonky.

Can you see the little buttons crocheted on the edge of the center towel? Towel bar from Ikea. I just couldn't find anything and this will work for now.

Oooopsssssss..............potty shot.

When I got married my daughter gave me the little charm with my initials on the front and YDLY on the back. From the time she was little I always put YMLY on everything for her.......YOUR MAMA LOVES YOU.......on lunch sacks, presents, hand made things......whatever.....so she did YOUR DAUGHTER LOVES YOU........for me. I wore it on that special day.

I use lots of hair product. It gets everything dirty, so I love things in jars. Easy clean-up.

I bought this little cabinet at Home Depot. Another great spot for keeping things out of the hair spray zone. Little "stuff" inside.......I love all that little stuff.

Another shot of that little cabinet. I added the little knobs. Actually, I bought them at a little store called Keepsakes in Buckley, Washington. (Now closed). The adorable gal is Debbi Bock and has a bloggie now of her own........check her out! Just click on the link on my favorite girlies titled Garden Party.

She's a sweet little Christian gal........you'll LOVE her.

One of my dear friends always tells me......."and God is still in control" when things are out of whack in my life.......it's in the little frame in this snap...inside the jar. You know, it's all about keeping things safe from the hair goo.....

More of the jar.........like I really needed to add another picture of it???

That little curtain under the sink?? Yeah, storage. As I've said my little cottage is pretty small and I have to make every area pay! This holds one of those little plastic drawer do-hickeys for beauty supplies and my little stool. I sit here every single day to put my make-up on.

The bottom of the shower curtain. This is an example of measure twice, cut once??? :-) I had intended a solid strip across the area where the little points are. In the end, although a lot more work, this came out just fine. I can't tell you how many boo-boo's I've made when I'm sewing.

And, finally, my little chair. I LOVE this little cutie. I bought it at an all-city garage sale several years ago for 12.00 and made the slipcover for it. It is my very worst slipcover, but I love it anyway. This was a tough chair to do. It doesn't have a cushion which hides MANY little problems. It's on wheels, so I just shoot it into the closet when I clean the bathroom. I never use all matching fabrics. I like to "shake it up"........or, as my friend Jan says......"add a bit of poisen"......it makes everything much more interesting and achieves the cottage look much better, I think.

I hope you've enjoyed the little bath tour today.

Now, go and have a great time checking out all the other fabulous girls and their Pink Saturday posts.

Many blessings,

Spencer

Yipppppeee! It's The First Pink Saturday For Bellamere Cottage!

Thank you so much, Beverly, for letting me join your Pink Saturday party! I'm excited to be here.......I can't seem to add links, but please join all the other lovlies at www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com
You'll enjoy it!

The first picture is of my little pink Wade house. I used to collect them, but gave them all to my daughter........well...........except this little pink one. I just couldn't bear to give it up. :-)

A small shot of a dresser in the master bedroom. The lamp was originally brass......I think (to be honest, I don't remember for sure, but it was icky)....painted a pale petal pink and re-wired for safety. I have a thing for trays......one of them is peeking out from behind the lamp.....

As I've said........I LOVE vintage tole trays. This is one from my collection. It's a tiny one.......I think about 7 inches or so.

Oh yes! Pink knobs! I'd add them to everything if I could! They make everything cuter!

A bit of my bedside table. I LOVE that little lamp. I bought just the base at an antique store years ago and made it into the lamp.......it was hard to find a shade that would fit, but I'm determined and prevailed.

Our bedroom is pink and yellow......my very favorite color combination. It's just so happy!

That's my little grandson as a baby. That picture of him is just so sweet.........it makes my heart sing!

A center shot of one of my green tole trays. I couldn't get the darn thing to crop worth beans so I gave up and just did the center. I LOVE those roses! Aren't they so pretty? I wish I could go back in time and watch the artists paint them. They did such a good job. It's interesting how many were painted by the same artists.

I so hope you enjoyed my first Pink Saturday........PINK is my favorite color and when I think of my house I always think in pink, but when it came to photographing things it didn't seem so pink.....hmmmmmmm.........

I'm so glad you came! Thanks again, Beverly.

Have a wonderful weekend dear ones.

Wishing you abundant blessings!

Spencer

It's The Entry at Bellamere Cottage!!!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We had a great time celebrating my DH's birthday. Whew, they sure add up quickly! We had a great dinner out with Dodi and Brett, and I did take pix but they didn't turn out.......darn it all!

My Mum passed away very recently and I inherited this adorable little table from her. It was my dad's mom's...........so it's been around quite awhile. It was one of my Mum's favorite things, so I'm thrilled to have it.

Just one of the trays my from collection. I just love old tole. It's so sweet and we think of it as little bits of art. I have them EVERYWHERE! Yep, including the bathrooms.

I bought the lamp (part of a pair) at an estate sale years ago. I LOVE them. Throw in some china and I am a HAPPY girl.

The walls are a very pale blush pink. What an easy color to live with. It's so happy. Of course pink IS my favorite color! :-) Darling Hubby loves it too. Whew am I grateful.

Ahhhhhhh.........the floor. Our teeny little house with the tiny little entry is in a planned community. When we built the house we did get to choose all the floors, cabinets, etc., however, the choices were very limited. We ultimately plan to have hardwoods throughout the main area of the house, but that's going to be down the road sometime. Our darling little pooch, Ruby Mae PetuniaBelle loves to fly through the house and use that little rug you see there as a surfboard. Her little feet have made several lovely scratches in the floor, so until she slows down, the hardwood floors are on hold.

At any rate, I originally chose vinyl. EWWWWWWWWW.........it was so nasty. That's just not right for an entry. While I was lying in bed one night, unable to sleep, this great idea came to me.......(some of my best ideas come then).....!! Why not tear up that nasty floor and paint it! I had painted the bathroom floor in our old house and it had held up so well, why not try this one? Up came that nasty vinyl and a little paint and I have a floor I just LOVE! I'd paint the whole darn house if I could. It's been painted for about four years and if Little Ruby Mae wasn't so wild it would still be perfect. Oh well........we wouldn't give that little cutie up for anything, so the scratches are a small price to pay. It's painted on the subfloor, so the whole thing cost about twenty five dollars! YIPPPEEEE......!!!!

Tiny, but full........just like the rest of the house!

I LOVE this old frame.........it's one of my favorite things......yeah, I know.....everything is my FAVORITE thing! I bought it at a garage sale years ago for fifteen dollars! It had a hideous painting in it that I pitched........hmmmmmmm.......thinking I probably shouldn't have done that after watching Antiques Roadshow........might have been a mistake?? :-(

I had other plates hanging in it, but while my Mum was here not too long before she passed away she thought these would be prettier, so we changed them out. It was her idea to hang the center plate vertically........I would never have thought of that. She was a clever girl. I miss her so much.

The beat up, pooped out garland is my husbands maile lei from his daughter's wedding last October in Hawaii. Poor guy, happily lives with pink walls and tons of fru-fru, I'm not about to deny him his memory here...........He always laughs and tells me the only space he has in this house is his chair and his closet. He's such a sport. Gotta love a beat up, dry old (maybe dusty too??) maile lei then, right? :-)

Eventually the whole shin-dig on that side of the little entry will change, however. I've been working on a wool applique quilt for that space for two years now. I worked on it a ton while I was caring for my Mum........now it's hard for me to pick up. It makes me so lonely for my Mum.......maybe sometime in the next couple of years it'll be up on that little wall.

I hope your week is packed with blessings!

Happy Monday!

Kind Regards,
Spencer
