It's Pink Saturday Dear Chickies!

Oh my goodness..........is this not the MOST delish pink??? It made me laugh...somebody has some seriously great sewing talent and a thing for pink! Well, and pom-poms! I wish I could have gotten a better scan, but the 'ol HP was being temperamental. I swear, I'd giggle every morning, when I walked into the kitchen, if this was mine. :-)

This was my Mother's Day card from my girl.

Inside it said:

When it comes to being a Mom,
you've got it covered!
Thanks for making it so cozy.

Happy Mother's Day.

Do you think she knows I love pink?

A birthday card from a friend.....she KNOWS what I love. :-)

Why can't I find one of these for my very own self???

Could they be any prettier?? I so wish they were mine. I bought a pink rose bush on a really hot day, when I really wasn't in the mood. It's just not my favorite. I'm going to have to spend some serious time looking for a better variety. We had four HUGE ones at our old house.... Must have been there forever.....and they were DELISH! I miss them so much.

How I wish this was my main ride! A nice basket on the front and I'd be good to go! It would make me happy just to see it in the garage.......which is exactly where it would stay if it were mine. I broke my leg walking.... I think a bike is out of the question. And, to think I used to be able to stand up on the seat when I was a kid. (That and rolling a burn barrel all over the yard for hours). Gosh that was fun.....and sooooooooooo long ago I'm surprised I can still remember it. YIKES!

You'll want to see loads of other happy pinks so go to:

www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com

and visit that sweet little Beverly over there......she features some special girlies every week....you won't want to miss them.

Have a wonderful weekend little sweeties.

I'll be up to my eyeballs in the garage sale.....well, I'm sure hoping to be. I'll let you know how it went. The weather is supposed to cool down a little bit tomorrow. It was soooo hot and miserable for the past few days.

Lovies!

PS..... I am one crazy girlie... Oh my gosh I think I was up way too late last night. I thought it was Friday night and I'd better hurry and get my Saturday post up... When I got to bed the Hubbs told me it was THURSDAY. So everything is all out of whack!!!

But, hey! I'm EARLY and that almost NEVER happens. :-)

Pink Saturday At Bellamere Cottage

Today I'm sharing pictures of a few little vignettes around the Cottage...

That's my newest tole tray peeking out there. :-)

It actually has lots of pink.......naturally that didn't show up in the picture.

I wanted that little glass basket vase for YEARS. My darling daughter bought it for me. Gosh I love her.

I have little lamps EVERYWHERE....they all have teensie little bulbs in them, but they make things look so cozy, don't you think? This one is next to my kitchen sink. The DH wants to know if there will be any counter space left. HAHAHAHA!

That little plant? Wirevine. I thought maybe I could root it like ivy. Yeah, not so much. I called the local greenhouse to ask how to propagate it....you just stick a snip into the soil. I want to make a topiary with it. I'll try that next spring.

That dome-ish do-hickey? Goodwill. Oh how I do LOVE the GW. I think it was about five dollars. I've had it years.

Doesn't gingham photograph strangely? It always looks like op-art to me.

Little thrift store chair....beauty make-over. I found the needlepoint at a garage sale and I was determined to find a chair to use it on.....my kitchen is robin egg blue with bits of black.

The round topiary? Yep, coat hanger. Just bend it into a circle and add ivy.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Be safe.

God bless you.

Posies At Bellamere Cottage *Part Two*..............Happy Pink Saturday too!

Happy Pink Saturday little Sweeties!!!!!

I know you're going to want to see loads more PINK.....so

head on over to see Miss Beverly at:

www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com

You're going to LOVE it!

So, that little green pot of baby tears is one of my very favorite pots! It's a cute little cement pot underneath all of that "hair"... :-) It dies every winter, but always comes back in the spring. The little blop of white? Yeah, that's a little bird that's just LOST in all of that green hair.

This is what I see from my kitchen. Bellamere Cottage is just that....a beensie cottage...and the yard? Yep, the same......SMALL....but I LOVE it! I can't begin to tell you how much pleasure and joy this tiny plot of land gives me. It makes my heart sing!

When we downsized we looked at condos.......While there is so much to be said for that style of living, it didn't quite suit us, so we bought the teeny house with the tiny yard instead.

Perfect for us!

And, true to form, just like my house........I'll stuff it as full as I possibly can!

We have one of the canvas style gazebo's out there. I've thought about the permanent solution for the entire six years we've lived here. I finally came up with the perfect idea about two weeks ago. It'll be in the plans for next summer. That is if my half-husband isn't married and way too busy with projects for his little missus by then! :-)

(Yeah, I posted this story awhile back....There is nothing "weird" going on...)

It makes me smile!

See those petunias in the middle there? Yep, that's actually a flower pot of tunies! WOW! They really love that spot. I'll remember that for next year.

And, the tall pink flowers? Cosmos! They're HUGE! I love 'em. Gosh they were easy to grow. I've never tried them before.

To the left? Yes, those would be my roses. I do NOT like this variety at all. I don't remember what I bought, but they get watermarked and look yukky. I'm so disappointed.

I hope you all enjoy your PINK weekend!

God bless all of you. You're just the BEST!

There's A Handpainted Island At Bellamere Cottage!

Happy Pink Saturday! I'm so happy you came to visit!

Get your morning cuppa and kick back for a little bit and enjoy all the lovely girlies at Miss Beverly's.......... www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com

So little chickies.......here's the story of the island at Bellamere Cottage....

As I've said, our home is in a planned community and there were only SOOO many choices as to style, colors, hardware, etc. when we built the little cottage about six years ago. One of the options that WAS available was a center island for the kitchen. According to THEIR plan, it couldn't have an overhang for stools.......now, tell me......how are you supposed to sit at the island with no stools?

Ahhhhhhhh...........but this is where the handy, dandy half-husband (see previous post) comes in! Oh, what a great guy to have around! He and my adorable little hubbs built a wood top for me WITH the desired overhang. It was just plywood, however.......yeah, that's just not going to work, is it?

No problem! The lady of the cottage.......that would be me.......came to the rescue with her little paint bucket and a couple of brushes. .........let's tape off the center and free hand the posies around the edges........roses are hydrangeas would look happy, don't you think?? A couple of coats of primer, a base coat of paint and some dolling up..........about 4 coats of Diamond Finish Varathane.......and VOILA'!!!

This is actually the THIRD time I've painted it. I discovered it's not a good idea to leave a cleaner bottle on top of it on cleaning day.........ewwwwwwwww.....it was so sad.......then I repainted it with a golden border and HATED it, so, as they say, THREE times is a charm.

This is a temporary solution for the island top. I didn't care for any of the upgrades they offered for our counters, so I just went with the standard laminate and will be replacing all of the kitchen counters in a few more years.....so, in the meantime, this painted countertop works just great for us.

I tried for two days to take decent snaps of the kitchen and living room to share for Pink Saturday and couldn't get them to look right. I have a Canon G-9....it's a pretty good camera, I think, but my shots all looked FUNNY! Almost grainy???? Does anyone have any tips? I don't know what all those little buttons are about?? :-) I just use auto, but I think another setting might work better. We were actually having sunshine here in the NW too.... Things that make you say hmmmmmmmm.

God Bless All Of You!!!

Have a wonderful and safe weekend.

Thank you SO very much for visiting.

It's Show and Tell Friday!........How Do You Feel About Estate Sales??

Thanks, Kelli, for hosting another Show and Tell Friday! Please be sure to hop on over and check out all the other fabulous girlies' posts!

www.kellishouse.blogspot.com

Do you love a good estate sale? Whew, it sure is a great place to pick up fabulous items, but, at the same time I feel guilty when I'm going through some one's lifetime of belongings. It's sort of creepy, isn't it?

I regularly get an e-mail from a local gal who does estate sales, complete with photos of her offerings. I've been to several of her sales and have actually purchased two of my very favorite items from her. It's wonderful that she posts photos so you know if the trek will be fruitful.

This is a teacup bonanza, isn't it??

You can always click on the snaps for a bigger view! :-)

I have a picture very similar in style to this one, it may be by the same artist. The frame is even the same shape....I'd LOVE to get this one.........but I doubt I'll be up to the early morning and long drive to go to this sale...

The "witch" sign just does NOT go with this picture.........

I'd LOVE the dog picture on the wall! Becky's prices are always so good..........

These people had tons of collections of "stuff"..........

Another shot of the teacup table.

Now, THIS picture got my little heart beating, for sure! Look at those yummy pieces of rose china! YUM!

It's at least a one hour drive through heavy traffic.........who knows what parking would be like...nahhhhhhh..........I won't be going, but I sure wish I could!

Wishing you a wonderful Friday!

Blessings and hugs,
Spencer

Yipppppeee! It's The First Pink Saturday For Bellamere Cottage!

Thank you so much, Beverly, for letting me join your Pink Saturday party! I'm excited to be here.......I can't seem to add links, but please join all the other lovlies at www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com
You'll enjoy it!

The first picture is of my little pink Wade house. I used to collect them, but gave them all to my daughter........well...........except this little pink one. I just couldn't bear to give it up. :-)

A small shot of a dresser in the master bedroom. The lamp was originally brass......I think (to be honest, I don't remember for sure, but it was icky)....painted a pale petal pink and re-wired for safety. I have a thing for trays......one of them is peeking out from behind the lamp.....

As I've said........I LOVE vintage tole trays. This is one from my collection. It's a tiny one.......I think about 7 inches or so.

Oh yes! Pink knobs! I'd add them to everything if I could! They make everything cuter!

A bit of my bedside table. I LOVE that little lamp. I bought just the base at an antique store years ago and made it into the lamp.......it was hard to find a shade that would fit, but I'm determined and prevailed.

Our bedroom is pink and yellow......my very favorite color combination. It's just so happy!

That's my little grandson as a baby. That picture of him is just so sweet.........it makes my heart sing!

A center shot of one of my green tole trays. I couldn't get the darn thing to crop worth beans so I gave up and just did the center. I LOVE those roses! Aren't they so pretty? I wish I could go back in time and watch the artists paint them. They did such a good job. It's interesting how many were painted by the same artists.

I so hope you enjoyed my first Pink Saturday........PINK is my favorite color and when I think of my house I always think in pink, but when it came to photographing things it didn't seem so pink.....hmmmmmmm.........

I'm so glad you came! Thanks again, Beverly.

Have a wonderful weekend dear ones.

Wishing you abundant blessings!

Spencer
